On Wednesday 5th March they had none other than Hackney born Japanese business/blogger sensation (and son of famous shoe maker), Danny Choo, give a talk about what he’s been working on at Culture Japan Night London.</div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;"></div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;">Armed with his mascot Mirai Suenaga Smart Doll, (was her Birthday on the 3rd March too) Danny Choo talked about a variety of different things such as the development of the doll, his website and culture japan show, as well as his insights into japanese culture and a few nuggets of information on how business is conducted in japan. During the talk, Danny mentioned that his current main focus is the smart doll project and to expand the functionality of the doll over the coming years. During its continued development, Danny and his team have wracked their brains to come up with a design that not only accommodates the necessary electronics within the limbs but also to make it cost effective to to help reduce the final cost of the doll to the consumer.<br /><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://parallaxplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/CJN_00.jpg" style="-webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease-out; border-bottom-color: transparent; border-bottom-style: dotted; border-bottom-width: 2px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #0090d3; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: start; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.5s ease-out;"><img alt="CJN_00" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2909" src="http://parallaxplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/CJN_00.jpg" height="683" style="border: 1px solid rgb(221, 221, 221); box-sizing: border-box; display: block; height: auto; max-width: 100%; padding: 7px; width: auto;" width="1024" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Mr Choo and Mirai doll!</td></tr></tbody></table><br /></div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;">Past models of the smart doll can be moved remotely using the controls on a Bluetooth paired Android Smartphone. Choo wants to go a step forward and make a walking, talking smart doll with artificial AI. As many are getting used to the likes of Siri on the iphone, imagine having a doll version of that which can talk and respond to your speech. The Mirai doll will have its own voice, but Danny hopes to make it possible for users to download and install additional “voice packs” utilizing the vocals of famous seiyuu voices which could really excite the Otaku consumer. An interesting facet of the production process of the dolls is that they are aimed at other countries rather than focusing on japan. When asked about the time delay from the manufacture of the dolls in Japan to when it would be available for overseas customers, he answered this was aimed exclusively for the rest of the world not Japan!</div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;"><a href="http://parallaxplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/CJN_00.jpg" style="-webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease-out; border-bottom-color: transparent; border-bottom-style: dotted; border-bottom-width: 2px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #0090d3; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.5s ease-out;"><br /></a></div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;">Amongst talk of his latest doll projects he talked about anime and licensing from his experiences in interacting with several anime studios. Even when you’re in contact with the staff at a particular company and everything seems fine, things can sometimes turn sour if said company has a problem with how you may be utilizing their IP. Even things like the company not approving of your fan art of their anime could cause talk of lawsuits to be thrown around with shorter than a week’s notice.</div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br /><a href="http://parallaxplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/CJN_02.jpg" style="-webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease-out; border-bottom-color: transparent; border-bottom-style: dotted; border-bottom-width: 2px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #0090d3; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.5s ease-out;"><img alt="CJN_02" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2894" src="http://parallaxplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/CJN_02.jpg" height="683" style="border: 1px solid rgb(221, 221, 221); box-sizing: border-box; display: block; height: auto; max-width: 100%; padding: 7px; width: auto;" width="1024" /></a></div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;">Another difference in how the market for anime differs in Japan is that the average Japanese consumer for anime and manga are content with having to pay as much as £350 for a Blu-Ray set for a series, which most people overseas would call extortionate prices since many fans in the UK would expect to pay around £40-60 max for a full season on blu-ray in their local retailer or online. Therefore the Japanese industry rarely feel they need to bother with considering the western anime market when consumers in their home territory are already prepared to pay much higher prices for anime and than those abroad.</div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;"><a href="http://parallaxplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/CJN_02.jpg" style="-webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease-out; border-bottom-color: transparent; border-bottom-style: dotted; border-bottom-width: 2px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #0090d3; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.5s ease-out;"><br /></a></div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;">In reference to Danny’s appearances at events, the most noteworthy being the Culture Japan Con created by his company, many people in the audience asked if he had any plans to attend UK conventions. To this, he said he’d happily attend if he were invited and they didn’t clash with his other events. When quizzed further about future Culture Japan events, Danny mentioned that the next event is likely to be in Malaysia, where he held the Culture Japan Con last year. So if you are in demand of Mirai merchandise, it would be a great experience to save up your money and go to the next convention abroad perhaps?<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-x6BYBpd9GZw/UyCLPqBa-hI/AAAAAAAAFvg/DMDP2nirjb0/s1600/1959596_592756207362_1120010625_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-x6BYBpd9GZw/UyCLPqBa-hI/AAAAAAAAFvg/DMDP2nirjb0/s1600/1959596_592756207362_1120010625_n.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br /></div><div style="box-sizing: border-box;">At the end of the Q&A Danny happily chatted to people and insisted we all networked with each other and make at least one new friend. This was easy as there were a variety of people in the audience of all ages, including students, business owners and cosplay fans. After a sprint to take all the Mirai poster off the walls, people queued to get photos with Choo and interviews. We even had a few cosplayers in midst of the crowd to stand with Danny and the Mirai doll in all our group photos. That is why there are so many organisations pulling resources and donation together to help keep children off the street., feed the hungry stop people from freezing to death and that's just in the UK Abroad we have war, starvation, abuse, slave labour and how ever many more I can't count on both my hands. We have a nice organisation that will actively try to to use Anime as a key to world peace.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Anime Key To World Peace Campaign</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">This campaign has one goal, use the influence that anime has all over the world to bring people in every country together. Their thoughts is that if people can find thing in common with anime they can start putting their difference aside little by little and become friends.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">This all came about when Founder Scott Young accidentally friend requested the wrong person while looking for Chelly from Supercell band and instead addedt a girl from Equador who was a fan of Supercell and had a fan profile. That got him thinking what if we could bring people together around the world. This little mistake turned out to be a bigger project and he is still good friends with the girl too.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">After consulting a few friends: Tyler, Chris, Sorro, and Ryan they thought what if we could start a page with anime fans to come together around the world and share their views and learn from each other and make friendships through it. So far that has been working well we have over 500 members in first 10 days and Tyler got the idea of holding a winter anime picture event who ever can have the best winter anime pic wins an admin spot.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Although we know its not an easy task and a lot of people will be doubtful that it will work. But if we can bring enough people together from this generation we can do it. As one day our generation will take over, and when that happens this page will be our greatest accomplishment to unite the world.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">The group promotes itself to other anime dedicated websites and ask's every member in group to do as much posting as possible because you can't get stuff in common with people if you post anything. And the second thing Leader Scott Young ask's of them is anyone they know invite them to page and ask them to do same thing. So that everyone comes together. As well as trying to get hold of local tv stations to put it put there so everyone locally can do same thing as well.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">This is a nice community, so that people who have no one to turn to can look to for distraction or solace in friends and anime. I myself turn to a few favourites to lift my mood when work is unbearable or when people shove you on a train to get to the last available seat. It's a notion that hopefully can promote peace and happiness in an otherwise cold world.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Some of the members comments on the group -</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">"I'm from the Anime Key To World Peace Campaign. Unless you followed specific people on Twitter, aka Yuri and Tara who posted their signing schedules for everyone to come see them. It became a mission to find the stall to queue, or if you needed to get a wristband and timings. This is something companies need to liaise with MCM about so that MCM have a schedule to release to customers. These changes need to be made known before or on the day. We had many reports coming in of attendees missing their chance to meet certain guests including Wit Studio. The chances of this Japanese team returning is unpredictable.</span><br /><br />My highlight was participating in the League of Legends UK cosplay meet, it was an experience I enjoyed through finding the ‘Fringe’ section on the London MCM Expo 2013 site. This page is a must for cosplayers, it has a list of all cosplay meets on all three days with locations, times and even links to Facebook groups. Especially since we have so many cosplayers attending the Eurocosplay awards that we need somewhere universal for people to connect through. Then the official Konami Cosplay competition where Konami sought out cosplayers to cosplay as Konami characters. A lot of Snakes surfaced with a Raiden, Female Dracula and myself as a retro character, Viki from Suikoden.</div><div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">Check out the great photos taken by the Konami Uk team photographer Ace: <a href="http://www.konami.co.uk/2013/10/25/mcm-expo-gallery-day-1/" style="border: 0px; color: #990000; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">http://www.konami.co.uk/mcm-expo-gallery-day-1</a></div><div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; text-align: center; vertical-align: baseline;"></div><div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">The lows were seeing the poor organisation of staff. Sadly there were reports of bad behaviour towards people in wheelchairs, no facilities or allowances were made to make them comfortable. Being in crutches and fighting my way through thick crowds of cosplayers, I can relate. Luckily the attendees were polite and understanding but looking at the MCM group from the amount of complaints shows the lack of training with London MCM Expo 2013 staff/volunteers.<br /><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zvuv3sC3__I/UyB_0VtkRLI/AAAAAAAAFu0/OAsmSKlj4Ys/s1600/yugioh.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zvuv3sC3__I/UyB_0VtkRLI/AAAAAAAAFu0/OAsmSKlj4Ys/s1600/yugioh.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Yugioh life size playing board</td></tr></tbody></table></div><div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">What added further insult to injury was if you were at the wrong place at the wrong time, dockland staff were confiscating cosplay weapons. With no justification cosplay weapons or props were taken away and destroyed. This is alarming, as London MCM Expo is known for cosplay, and staff around the area should come to recognise this. However precious works of art and hard labour were taken away and destroyed un rightfully. text-align: start;">BELENGGU<br /></span></td></tr></tbody></table><br />I'd never been to a horror film festival and Teracotta put on great films. Fortunate for me I enter alot of twitter competitions and I had won tickets for this particular all nighter - in my favourite genre.<br /><br />Armed with snacks and cola, I was ready to stay up all night and enjoy some great horrors from the far east, which included: countdown, zomvideo, henge, belenggu, and the ghost story of yotsuya.<br /><br />The night kicked off with Countdown, a Thai horror released 2012.<br /><br />“ONE NIGHT, THREE FRIENDS AND JESUS….WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?”<br /><br />It's New Year’s Eve in New York City goes wrong for three flat-mates when their drug dealer, Jesus, crashes their party and fucks them up. Royally.<br /><br />Three guilty kids mixed with drugs equals a lot of mental torture and beating in this movie. Without ruining the plot, basically they are reborn and face the consequences of there actions willingly after surviving a night with Jesus.<br /><br />Zomvideo a Japanese black comedy from 2011.<br /><br />I say Black comedy because you couldnt really take this low budget parody seriously but who knows I could be wrong. Aiko is a new employee of a film production company. At work whilst looking for footage she discovers an old videotape made by their company entitled “A Guide to Surviving from Zombies”. It is an instructional video that will teach them how to kill zombies using office supplies. Hilariously a zombie apocalypse is ensuing whilst she watches the video with a co worker and she uses her new knowledge tot he test.<br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dHhgfQs_fcw/Uh-vN6EUyhI/AAAAAAAAEmE/Q5I2mXfT7B4/s1600/henge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="158" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dHhgfQs_fcw/Uh-vN6EUyhI/AAAAAAAAEmE/Q5I2mXfT7B4/s640/henge.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Henge</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><br />The unnerving Henge, a Japanese horror/sci fi film from 2012<br /><br />This ultra low budget, multi faceted movie has won acclaim from a number of international genre festivals, not my favourite. A young couple are plagued by a monstrous illness that threatens to tear their relationship apart.Yoshiaki morphs in to a bloodthirsty monster every night and eats people, after much therapy and help nothing can control him and he turns in a HENGE beast. Lol see what I did there?<br /><br />The film I had been waiting for BELENGGU, Indonesian horror from 2012.<br /><br /><br />A film to rival the talents of David Lynch, this film sent you in a world of confusion, never knowing what is real and manipulated reality. Visions of violent murders, a giant knife throwing rabbit and a mysterious femme-fatale. Elang is haunted by images of bizarre murders involving a killer with a rabbit costume. His efforts to solve the mystery and save the lives of those he thinks are in danger have trapped him in a downward spiral and so he himself becomes a suspect.<br /><br />I fell asleep through this one, the ghost story of Yotsuya, a Japanese horror from 1959.<br /><br />A classic retrospective presentation of an old Japanese Macbeth-like folk tale (I am told). Sadly my eyes could not hold out for this film but here's the summary from Teracotta's website:<br /><br />This masterpiece of shock stars AMACHI Shigeru as a low-ranking samurai who poisons his trusting wife, so he can make a more advantageous match. But his plans are disrupted when her ghost returns for revenge. WAKASUGI Katsuko plays an unforgettable character as the horrifying ghost of AMACHI’s wife.<br /><br />The film is amongst some of the most faithful of many screen adaptations made since the silent era of a kabuki play by TSURUYA Nanboku, first staged in 1825.<br /><br />The ‘regular gangster film for the first half that flips into a horror film in the second half’ structure of the film is one that is mimicked by the likes of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN.<br /><div><br /></div><div>A really nice evening at the Prince Charles Cinema, for more great film festivals by Teracotta go here:</div><div><a href="http://terracottafestival.com/">http://terracottafestival.com/</a></div><br />Nahgahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04770001135584706830noreply@blogger.com0London, UK51.511213899999987 -0.1198243999999704151.195100899999986 -0.7652713999999704 51.827326899999989 0.52562260000002958tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4961007375248531069.post-86577889043336302402013-06-04T15:20:00.000+01:002014-03-12T15:22:25.792ZMay London MCM Expo 2013: The Games<div id="single-meta" style="background-color: white; border-bottom-color: rgba(255, 0, 0, 0.4); border-bottom-left-radius: 0%; border-bottom-right-radius: 0%; border-bottom-style: solid; border-top-color: rgba(255, 0, 0, 0.4); border-top-left-radius: 0%; border-top-right-radius: 0%; border-top-style: solid; border-width: 2px 0px; font-family: Raleway, sans-serif; font-size: 16.363636016845703px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px 0px 7.826704502105713px 7.826704502105713px; outline: 0px; padding: 15.653409004211426px 0px 23.480113983154297px 7.826704502105713px; vertical-align: baseline;"><h1 style="border: 0px; font-family: Offside, cursive; font-size: 26px; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: 26px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><em style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-transform: uppercase; vertical-align: baseline;">London MCM Expo</em><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: italic; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: 28px; text-transform: uppercase;"> is a hub for a wide variety of events, including anime, manga, small press, cosplay, film and gaming. Yesterday for ?18 (per ticket, standing only) Asian Kung Fu Generation performed to a packed out 02 Islington Academy venue. The Queue spanned for the door to outside the mall to the street. If you were one of the lucky go-ers then you will shout 'Naruto' with pride.</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 1.35em;">ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, is a Japanese alternative rock band formed in Yokohama, Japan, in 1996. Formed with the members band Masafumi Gotō (vocalist), Kensuke Kita (guitarist, Takahiro Yamada (bassist), and Kiyoshi Ijichi (drummer). The band's musical style is influenced by seminal Western punk and alternative rock acts in conjunction with their own local Japanese indie rock background. As a result, their songs maintain a balance of various aspects of the genres, most typically expressing fast-paced tempos and prominent, hard-edged guitar riffs as well as rhythmic flow and emotional lyrics.</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 1.35em;">Despite the indie nature of their music, the band has enjoyed worldwide commercial success in addition to critical acclaim. They have done songs for animes such as: Naruto, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist and many more. They have even featured in Nintendo and Konami musical games.</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 1.35em;">Rewrite (Fully Metal Alchemist opening) sung by Asian Kung Fu Generation</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 1.35em;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ94kpoiA30</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 1.35em;"><span style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 17px;">Upon entering the venue, the amount of frisking was top notch. No female security so I was told to empty my pockets. But my Totoro rucksack? He was violated and told 'We don't normally let pet's in but keep him out of trouble!'. It's nice to get professionality with a smile.</span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 1.35em;">The venue itself was intimate which was perfect you felt so close to the stage and band itself. If you had queued early to get a good spot near the front then eating would of been an essential. Casually strolling in Mc Donalds you would have bumped into the band themselves having a quick burger before the show with their entourage.</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 1.35em;">The gig started promptly at 6.30 with a mixture of hits from all their albums with a lot of otakus pleasers, it had a great vibe, everyone was head bopping and foot taping on the second floor, looking from the balcony to the stage. A great addition was a TV screen for the 2nd floor s if you wanted to rest on the sofas you could still watch the show.</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; margin-bottom: 1.35em;">Masafumi dedicated one song especially for his friend who passed away a few days ago which touched the fans, playing a heartfelt ballad. The dancing floor got so packed it became a mini mosh pit. On this particular occassion I was here to see the Japanese cyber punk band psy doll perform XD<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iHWAybbBFTA/UTE3Dc1juPI/AAAAAAAACCE/twWGJVkjwA8/s1600/2012-11-25+22.29.18.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iHWAybbBFTA/UTE3Dc1juPI/AAAAAAAACCE/twWGJVkjwA8/s1600/2012-11-25+22.29.18.jpg" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iHWAybbBFTA/UTE3Dc1juPI/AAAAAAAACCE/twWGJVkjwA8/s320/2012-11-25+22.29.18.jpg" width="180" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">audience dressed up</td></tr></tbody></table><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZwi1dtkAFc/UTE3ASizr8I/AAAAAAAACB8/8E_iMnByHso/s1600/2012-11-25+19.37.54.jpg" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZwi1dtkAFc/UTE3ASizr8I/AAAAAAAACB8/8E_iMnByHso/s320/2012-11-25+19.37.54.jpg" width="180" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">in the maid cafe</td></tr></tbody></table>Wrestling, the art of Kimbaku (rope art)and music events too. There was a projector showing Ghost in a Shell: Stand Alone Complex above the stage with the beautiful dark art of PSY Doll, which added to the haunting atmosphere.<br /><br />You also had a chill out area upstairs with a mini maid cafe with classic and alternative maids catering to your needs.<br /><br />The types of performances varied from dance (ballet) to performing arts and some Kimbaku. I’ve never seen Kimbaku before and was interesting to watch, three top students of Kimbaku showed their skills and one was even female. They all told a story and it’s not as seedy as one would assume.<br /><br />Lastly PSY Doll performed some great electro sounds with the beautiful and Visual Kei lead singer controlling the energy in the room. A truly entertaining night at a bargain price.<br /><br />For more alternative Maid events like their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Oh-My-Lord<br /><br />To find out about more intresting events go to <a href="http://animepicks.co.uk/author/aisha-ahmed/">animepicks.co.uk</a><br /><br />http://animepicks.co.uk/author/aisha-ahmed/ Nahgahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04770001135584706830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4961007375248531069.post-78937743193562196732012-11-09T13:58:00.000Z2012-12-02T14:45:52.170ZDistant Worlds: 25 years anniversary of Final Fantasy<br />After my first experience of Distant Worlds last year, I waited patiently for the tickets to go on sale for the 25th Anniversary concert in London. Within minutes 25 years worth of excitement and music had been wiped from the website by Czech hackers. Luckily some people managed to buy tickets. I was not one of them.<br /><br />A month went passed and more and more of my friends mentioned they had tickets and wanted to know if I was going – much salt was rubbed and eventually I forgot altogether until a few days before when a friend had happened to find tickets on gumtree XD<br /><br />To read more about the playlist, images and video go read the full review on animepicks.co.uk<br /><br />http://animepicks.co.uk/2012/11/distant-worlds-25-years-of-final-fantasy-music-celebrated-in-london/Nahgahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04770001135584706830noreply@blogger.com0
