Capcom uk 's Christmas event

The Capcom UK headquarters is famous for hosting regular events at the offices in the centre of London. Which was scheduled to be a monster hunter events was last minute changed to Street Fighter V. This did not deter any gamers, it was a full house of 100 people who had to be on the guest list.

People were allowed to wait in the reception till festivities commenced upstairs in the Capcom den. It was a great set up of three big screens set up with Street Fighter 5 (with light up Ryu busts) and even Mega Man. The best part is there are plugs everywhere to charge your 3DS and mobile phones. Since I was periscoping the event this certainly came in handy. Follow me on Twitter to watch my videos on periscope @aisha_anime

After about an hour of casual gaming we had an annoy meant of free t shirts I had never seen people dive so fast into a cardboard box. This was a first for me to receive a freebie. This was followed by another announcement 30 minutes later, this time the stampede to the foyer ensued. Where freebies we're littered on the desk and floor which include games: Resident Evil 6, Left for Dead 6, Project x Zone, StreetFfighter x Tekken and Capcom classics. Other freebies were Resident Evil 6 watches, t shirts, key rings, SF figures and Monster Hunter blind boxes.

This was very invigorating and only the most hardcore stayed and continued their street fighter 5 matches. It was great to see people so happy and mingling in order to trade freebies. But that wasn't all, 25 minutes later Jake the community manager walks in once more to announce they had a batch of over 18 freebies that got forgotten so all the fittest (with id) ran for the third round of glories freebies.

Capcom uk went all out to lease the fans and everyone either left making new friends, street passing or with some swag. Merry Christmas to all the hunters from Capcom - and thank you from the fans it was worth the trek to Hammersmith.

Monster Hunter Offline 2015 - the hunt begins!

Group shot photos all belong to Monster Hunter Event Photographer :-)
Being new to the Monster Hunter community I've attended two events so far at the Capcom HQ being lucky enough to meet the Producer of of the games Ryozo Tsujimoto, series director Kaname Fujioka and a whole bunch of awesome hunters! Here is a group who have formed their own independent Monster Hunter community (with no affiliation with Capcom)

This first meet of 2015 was by Monster Hunter Offline an un official community led by die hard fans. Upon entering the LAN pub Meltdown near Caledonian Road station. I was greeted by enthusiastic leaders Angela and Izzy. They gave me a raffle ticket (to win figures or a homemade hammer from the game made by Izzy!) and two badges designed by themselves and explained the schedule for the day.

I was impressed by the vigor and friendliness by the all the attendees, Angela offered to show me the ropes of the game as I was a noob to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, we got together a group of noobs led by a few high level hunters to help us level up fast and collect armour. A knight in shining armour called Zack who was level 85 at the time came to speed up our quests and he was given a free drink token for being a helper. I was amazed at the kind gesture and that Zack unknowingly helped out and got a free drink for his kindness.

They also had a representative from Koei there with playable demos of Toukiden for people to try out which is similar to Monster Hunter but you are samurai defeating demons in Edo Japan ( the art is beautiful, definitely worth checking out). People who played the demo were entered into a raffled to win a copy of the full game, I quite enjoyed milling around in the easy quests getting to gripes with the controls and to my astonishment I won the raffle.

Before we knew it a delivery of 10 pizzas or more came to the pub and we were all instructed to dig in and raise our stats this was not expected and honestly we were taken care of amazingly. Considering the majority of hunters had been there from 12-8pm. After dinner we awaited the raffle and it was intense. Who gets to collect some figures or take the gigantic hammer home. With a few draws for the hammer - as a few hunters were unable to transport it home, the third winner Rachel Burns cosplaying in one of the armour sets proudly claimed the hammer. Before the hammer went on a car journey to it's new home a;; the hunters were offered a chance to get photos holding it!

This event is great to introduce new players tot he game and for seasoned hunters to level up and make new guild friends. I will definitely attending again :-) The main focus of this group is to get people into a social space to play together, you can play online but there is no form of communication. Gaming can be solitary so let's make it hella fun in person!

MH Community event: Special Guests!

Capcom hosted a community event in anticipation for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate release. They invited 100 people to the office who all received an exclusive demo code for the game and a chance to meet the Executive Producer and Series Director in the flesh!

After much excitement in the queue we were all led upstairs at 12.30 after being ticked off the VIP list. We were then stamped and received our demo. Next panic ensued as too many people using the Capcom HQ wifi was not a good idea but thanks to Jake's quick thinking who ever could turn their phones into hotspots got to play and relieve the poor wifi connection. All was saved ! Praise be to Jake (community manager)!

This event was about community spirit talking and fighting with fellow hunters and it was amazing to see a few ambassador 3DS's floating about !
One of the main features of the game were the two new weapons and people were happy to play co op or on their MH3 games or just street pass. It was all relaxed atmosphere and there was even a pop up shop to purchase Japanese figures ! You WERE ALLOWED to come and go as you please to pick up snacks or get cash to buy things.

Then the star guests arrived Ryozo Tsujimoto (Executive Producer) AND Kaname Fujioka (Series Director) accompanied by a massive Cat in Kirin armour. People were allowed to get one item signed (personal) or a provided poster. There were a lot of unusual items including a hip flask, meat plushie and leather pouch - they were shocked to see I had a MH4 Ultimate bag, which I got free for playing the game at Tokyo Games Show last year ^^.

In the spirit of the hunt and with my Birthday coming up, my code didn't work, so I've decided to give it away to a lucky Monster Hunter fan, all you have to do is answer the question - What armour was the cat warrior wearing at the event? Comment on my facebook page, Like 'Aisha Anime' on fb and share the post. Competition ends Friday 23rd midnight (London Greenwich mean time).

Good Luck fellow Hunters ^^ Aisha

Update: I would just like to add Capcom contacted me regarding my code not working due to the internet and they have given my another, cannot express how much these guys look after there community. Thank you so much Jake ! I'm back in hunt tonight guys :D

Monster Hunter Community Event with Ryozo Tsujimoto

mhn001a
Anyone who is a fanatic about Monster Hunter can tell you how loyal company Capcom is to their fans. Apart from sponsored events around London offering never before seen previews, help from the experts and chances to win exclusive merchendise. Their latest community event, held at the Capcom Europe offices in London offered even more to long-time fans of the franchise.
Upon entering the fabulous reception we were greeted by the zombie mascot and Jake who escorted us to the hustle and bustle of 120 gamers getting there streetpass on. After a few competitions for Japan-exclusive plushie meat  (vacuum sealed for freshness) , people were left to their own devices to mingle with other fans, play co op quests on big screen or on the 3DS’s.

It hadn’t been made clear what was going on but all the gamers were so engrossed in their quests it didn’t matter. I inquired to the plan of events and was pleased to find out that the Executive producer of monster hunter Mr. Ryozo Tsujimoto would be joining us!

After much suspense, he entered and we all made an orderly queue, people brought along their Monster Hunter art books, games, DS consoles to get signed and Ryozo san was more than happy to oblige. After everyone’s trinkets got signed we all gathered to have group photos, and there were a lot of us to squeeze in.  With Ryozo san being so kind to get photos with everyone, he bid us a farewell. We then grilled the Capcom representative for information on the new Monster Hunter and then were left to our own devices.

A great opportunities to catch up with fellow online hunters! Hopefully Capcom will arrange more community events in the future as this was spectacular with a great turnout!
