Brighton comic con: live blog

I am on my way to Brighton with hope of meeting one of my favourite vampires in history - James Masters aka Spike. Check back here for live updates about the events. Photos will be added when I get home.

One of the main attractions included the attendance of James Masters known for his role of Spike the bad boy vampire in Buffs the Vampire slayer as well as Torchwood and movies.

He shared tables with John Hurt who is famous for many roles including Aliens. Watership Down, Harry Potter the list foes on. Both had talks costing £10 and photo shoots snd costumed shoots.

If you are a horror fan Romero was in attendance again famed for his series of zombie movies Including day of the dead.

If you didn't come for the guests you came for cosplay with a large amount of entries including the ginger bread men, lego man, red shirts from star trek. gambit, judge dredd family and humanoid gundam.

Also most of the two floors of the Halton Metrapole was full of stalls selling comics, sci fi merchendise, anime figures, decoed shoes, plushies and tons of tshirts.

There was definitely something for everyone in the family to enjoy, barring the extreme heat, best to bring a fan and lots of water. Refreshments were being sold throughout the venue which was handy and toilets cleaned regularly - yaay!

Sir Christopher Lee dies at 93

This year has seen a lot of influential and screen legends pass away today was the end of an era as horror icon Sir Christopher Lee dies at 93. Sir Christopher Lee, the screen legend whose career took him from Hammer horror movies to Sci Fi cult classic Star Wars, book to blockbuster trilogy Lord of the Rings and a role as one of the great Bond villains.

The actor died at 8.30am on Sunday at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in company of his family, suffering with respiratory problems and heart failure over three weeks.

The actor first achieved fame as a Hammer Horror star in the 1950s then soared up from his role in Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, but his fame really kicked in the last 15 years of his career with mainstream blockbusters where he was introduced to a new generation of fans. This included Tim Burton films including Alice in Wonderland and Sleepy Hollow.

He married his wife, Birgit, known as Gitte, in 1961 and they had a daughter, Christina. They were married for 50 years, Lady Lee delayed news of his death so all close family could be informed.

London Film and Comic Con 2013: Top Picks

London Film and Comic Con has come round twice already this year, and is one of the smaller cons by Showmasters which specialise in television and movie stars, where you come and buy autographs and have chances to get photographs with your favourite celebrity, whether it be sci-fi, or anime.

Jokes cosplay skits, Thor is not impressed

This year the calling of cosplay was immense. Compared to past years where you wouldn’t even have enough people participating in the Cosplay Masqerade. This time round you had cosplay guests situated in the middle of the convention in a square selling prints available for photographs. The cosplay masquerade was so popular, the queue of audience left the stage and you had to arrive early to see any of it.

Lastly but not at all least a company that is brilliant for what they stand for Iconic Legion are a group of amazing quality cosplayers who attend events and conventions for charity. MCM London 2012: Kawaii Stalls

Along my adventures at MCM, I came across a lot of unique and cute stalls – I have found a range of interesting items and brands you should all check out and show some love as it’s these independent companies that gives us the much loved trends aka the Llama frenzy – a must have companion for all Lolita’s brought to us by Tofu Cute.

Super kitch jewellery by Purple Rooster, it’s not just Pikachu made out of fimo clay, t’s a a pika-cake  some lovely designs wearable by men and women, I especially loved the Onyx necklace.

I found Pokemon fanatics where they were selling all things Poke-related, my favourite prizes from this stall were the awesome poke-badges form the first series!

Since the boom of the zombie craze has exploded in the UK, we had a stall with zombie mannequins including a zombe bride and a zombie nazi from ‘The Flesh Krafter’.

Beautiful plastic Jewelry with a Alice in Wonderland/Lolita –esque style from Fondant Warfare literally killer jewelry. I spent the longest time looking at their merchandise spanning from Disney characters, retro my little ponies to their own range of Halloween designs.

A real treat was meeting the creator of ‘cyanaide and happiness’ comics and cartoons as seen on YouTube, he was happily setting up his branded stuff for MCM goers to ‘squee’ over and even did autographs and photographs for free, what a gent!

John Carter: dos mundos un heroe (why is this in French?)

Saw John Carter at the Greenwich Odeon and let me tell you it ain't about mummies ! My bros had in depth snor-a-thon discussion with my cousin in the car about it being a series of 11 books called 'Barsoom' series of  (1912–43), originally where the idea Star Wars came from and even Avatar. So literally walked in with a blank mind, which is probably the best frame of mind, so you don't get too dissapointed or over excited.

Lol I love the French tagline seems so unsuspectingly corny.

I liked the intro about the planet Mars, John Carter himself was a bit too awesome if you ask me but he was likable I can't hold it against him, I love a grumpy protagonist with a chip on his shoulder! Taylor Kitsch not to be confused with Ben Barnes did     a great job as being a pissed off soldier.

Lots of action, blowing stuff up, intresting story, spider men and a token cute dog/rock thing. This film was entertaining and well worth the money spent - good of done with a few ore laughs to have been perfect but I loved my special edition 3D glasses, they're red XD



inquire on my journey to cousins flat (behind Odeon cinema) we parked near a car which had the back seat door open with an empty baby seat inside...

About 3 hours later, came back to our and this vehicle was still open and deserted as far as we could see and after discussing the order of who'd died first if a serial killer attacked us I didn't even want to loiter around and inquire about the car.
