Street Fighter V Launch event

Members of the Capcom Uk community would have received free tickets to this intimate event and they 50 tickets were raffled online to people to win amongst a few other ways to get into this supper hush hush event.

Upon entering you had about 10 consoles you could freely play and fight people in the vicinity. You also had an exclusive two pods which were for tournaments to win freebies courtesy of Capcom UK including mugs, PS4 skins, stat cards, head bands and more.

For entertainment you had a free bar to have as much as you like, a steady infux of nibbles entering the room and a few Street Fighter branded fortune cookies scattered on tables. Twice during the evening we had live performances of characters reconstructing fights from the game.

It was mentioned that the creator of the game Yoshinori Ono would be in attendance and people expected an announcement of a signing or photo session. Througout the night while watching the matches, a fellow Gamer elebowed me saying 'It's him.' I spun around exiting a selfie to see and with a puzzled said 'Where? I can't see him?' and to my suprise a crouching Oni who was taking photos of the fights stood up, turned around and waved at me saying 'Hello!'

It was alike a scene from an anime and as soon as I stopped saying 'OMG OMG OMG' I proceeded to get a selfie and group photo with all my friends including. This was a top 10 moment of my life. Capcom Uk even got in on the action and took photos of us in our selfie mode with Ono. He then got hounded by others after we initially spotted the ninja at the vent.

Whilst mingling we ended up near the entrance and saw a orange bomber jacket move through the crown and stop to look back, we all waved Ono goodbye as he left the building.  For a last minute decision to attend this was a glorious night and I hope to see more from Capcom UK for the fans.

Jamie Lee Curtis and family cosplayed as 'Street Fighter' characters to sneak into EVO

Jamie Lee Curtis a professed Street Fighter Fan

Famed Horror Actress from Halloween series, Jamie Lee Curtis, and her family cosplayed as characters from the popular fighting games Street Fighter and Tekken. This was so she and  her son could attend Evolution Championship Series (EVO) currently happening now  in USA. Evo is the the world's largest fighting-game tournament held annually in Las Vegas, this weekend. Curtis chose masked fighter Vega — the perfect way to stay incognito and not get recognised by fans.

People only realised she was in anttendance after she revealed all on her twitter account about how much fun she had whilst tagging the EVO event account. Curtis has declared her love for Street Fighter in the past, saying she picked it up because of her son and even refers to planing to take her son  to EVO this year ina recent interview as his graduation present.

Curtis adds that her favorite character in Street Fighter is tough military chick Cammy, who appears in the upcoming Street Fighter V game.

The Cosplaying Guinea Pig Family

I absolutely love the cosplayers of the animal world (as long as no cruelty is inflicted). It takes a lot of hard work to make the outfits and getting the pet to sit still or not destroy it within seconds so I commend all owners who get that far to do photoshoots. 

Today is a new kind of cosplaying animal I have come across, a lady called Ayu on Twitter has posted up a series of photos from different anime series of her family of Ginea pigs in cosplay clad and loving it.


Not only has Ayu done a great job with the outfits she has even added props and some photo-shopping for added effect.

Meet Kintoki (male) and his mate Chikuwa (female), and their lovely daughter Menma!

Animes cosplaying from include: One Piece, Mario, Chun Li from Street fighter, Girls Und Panzer and Usagi from Sailor Moon.

Top Valentine Cards

This post is to show different ideas of messages and photos you can devise to show how you feel about someone, they can be full on or subtle. Personally more cats involved the better :-p Enjoy!

 Let's start with the heart clad, tacky card and Yes it is a cat dressed as cupid! Keeping it cute and funny.

This card is for that cat enthusiasts as only we know the importance of a cat blink.

 Straight up permission the cats have given up to be a couple. Simple, not too gushy but cute.

 For the gaming couple, probably too cute for the male. Maybe you should stick to feeding him a sandwich while he plays more appreciation from that than a card. -----------------------

 Sarcasm might be more your thing so put them in their place. Simple slogan car.

Obvious and amusing good for long term relationships and good friends.

 Another play on words using your favourite anime character - word play is important.

 poems are nice, if you aren't Shakespeare rework an old classic awith your own style.

Or be random. Let's face it everyone digs the cage allover there face.

Gamerdisco x Kotaku Event

Who are 'Gamerdisco' ?

The guys started out their events as 'Nintendisco' and became endorsed by them and toured at events. They then changed their name to encompass a variety of games "a spanking shiny new monthly club night' GamerDisco- a truly social video gaming event!

With multi-screen projected gaming from old skool Nintendo including Pacman - one of the higlights was whoever got the top score on single player mode got an instant prize announced straight at 8.30pm! In the next room near the lightbulb bar they had Bomberman people played competitively

After 9pm Sami Cetin representative of the UK for Mario Kart championships entered the scene to challenge people to Mario Kart tournament with lots of prizes to be won.

 Whilst the hardcore gamers got into their zone you had Jetset Rory spin some 90's tunes mixed with 8 bit; electro, hip hop and gaming themes including Pokemon and Street Fighter. Later relieved by Tom from Japan Underground playing the expected Kyari tracks back to back.

This is a night for both casual button bashers and seasoned pros alike - I saw a different sort of clientèle with more random bystanders than the usual gaming community.

Gamerdisco ft IGN: 6th March

Gamerdisco is becoming a regular hang out for me and my gaming buddies. Free entry into a den of games, friendly atmosphere, drinking and prizes.

About Gamerdisco:

From the team who brought you Nintendisco comes the new monthly club night 'GamerDisco' with only a name change everything else equally as Geek Fest. A truly social video gaming event for those who would like to play solitary. Get up and and make an event of it with multi-screen projected gaming from old skool Nintendo. GamerDisco at Book Club provides an adult space for arcade lovers and fans of video games.

This time there was a queue outside the entrance to the light-bulb en-clustered domain. Seems I'm not the only regular attending and it's true, the majority of people attending  are part of a community.

The variety of attendees span from amateur noobs, to tourney pros looking for practice or to score prizes. Last time one of my friends came 2nd in the Street Fighter tourney and won a steam code for Jet Set Radio (courtesy of IGN). Playable games were: Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Mario Kart, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom and Streetfighter x Tekken.

The music has changed vastly due to DJ 'Jet Set' Rory playing some pop tunes in 8-bit forms: Riding Dirty, Goldigga and Pokemon Remix, which the audience and even staff were bopping to.

The only disappointment to the night was the lack of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 'till late into the night and no Tekken at all. I am hoping there will be a bit more variety next time and perhaps more games previews, as at the last event they had another room dedicated to All Stars Battle Royale which was a real crowd pleaser.

Overall a great night out for students, people on a budget or people who need to let off some steam.
