Tekken's new Pinoy character - Josie

Breaking news from CNN Philippines is addition of new female Pinoy character Josie to the Tekken 7!

After much from Lucky Chloe it is great to see more female characters. Though I must say her head is a little small compared to the rest of her body or is it just me?! Designed by Bayonetta’s Mari Shimazaki. Harada even revealed some trivia on her character:
  • Her name is inspired by the Philippines’ national hero: Jose Rizal.
  • Her fighting style is a mix of eskrima and kickboxing.
  • The initial feedback about her has been largely positive. Her name was even trending on Twitter.
  • She has a sad background. She’s “a crybaby, but strong.” That’s why she cries of joy when she wins.

Have a look at other new characters in Tekken 7 here.

Watch Pokemon, kirby, Inzuma Eleven for free on 3DS Anime App!

In Europe, Australia and New Zealand, a new video-on-demand service called the Nintendo Anime Channel will be available for the Nintendo 3DS. It will be available as a free downloadable app from the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

In Europe, it will launch on Feb. 13, 2015 to particularly promote it on the New Nintendo 3DS, which is out on the same day. Available anime include the Pokémon anime, Kirby, and Inazuma Eleven.

In Australia and New Zealand, it will launch on Feb. 14, 2015. Available anime include the Pokémon anime and Kirby. No details have been released about this service in other regions.

Nintendo state it's "A new video-on-demand service kicks off on 13th February, offering fans the chance to stream anime series from the likes of Pokémon, Kirby, and Inazuma Eleven, with new content being added regularly. Access to the service is granted simply by downloading a free application from Nintendo eShop."

Originally Nintendo was keen to push the device as a video multimedia device, with the Nintendo Video channel providing a few short videos every week. That approach had dissolved until Nintendo released the Pikmin Short Movies late last year, and now Nintendo of Europe is following that up and bringing a rather attractive service to its region.

MH Community event: Special Guests!

Capcom hosted a community event in anticipation for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate release. They invited 100 people to the office who all received an exclusive demo code for the game and a chance to meet the Executive Producer and Series Director in the flesh!

After much excitement in the queue we were all led upstairs at 12.30 after being ticked off the VIP list. We were then stamped and received our demo. Next panic ensued as too many people using the Capcom HQ wifi was not a good idea but thanks to Jake's quick thinking who ever could turn their phones into hotspots got to play and relieve the poor wifi connection. All was saved ! Praise be to Jake (community manager)!

This event was about community spirit talking and fighting with fellow hunters and it was amazing to see a few ambassador 3DS's floating about !
One of the main features of the game were the two new weapons and people were happy to play co op or on their MH3 games or just street pass. It was all relaxed atmosphere and there was even a pop up shop to purchase Japanese figures ! You WERE ALLOWED to come and go as you please to pick up snacks or get cash to buy things.

Then the star guests arrived Ryozo Tsujimoto (Executive Producer) AND Kaname Fujioka (Series Director) accompanied by a massive Cat in Kirin armour. People were allowed to get one item signed (personal) or a provided poster. There were a lot of unusual items including a hip flask, meat plushie and leather pouch - they were shocked to see I had a MH4 Ultimate bag, which I got free for playing the game at Tokyo Games Show last year ^^.

In the spirit of the hunt and with my Birthday coming up, my code didn't work, so I've decided to give it away to a lucky Monster Hunter fan, all you have to do is answer the question - What armour was the cat warrior wearing at the event? Comment on my facebook page, Like 'Aisha Anime' on fb and share the post. Competition ends Friday 23rd midnight (London Greenwich mean time).

Good Luck fellow Hunters ^^ Aisha

Update: I would just like to add Capcom contacted me regarding my code not working due to the internet and they have given my another, cannot express how much these guys look after there community. Thank you so much Jake ! I'm back in hunt tonight guys :D

Suikoden I & II releasing on Vita in USA

The cult classic JRPG game that hit the Sega Saturn but got noticed on PSone Suikoden 1 &2 has finally been re released in America. After years of petitioning to Konami and the with the help of the Suikoden Revival Movement.

Game company Konami who have brought out legendary games such as Metal Gear Solid and Yu gi Oh series have always avoided porting Suikoden but never explained why. Today December 9th it has been released on PSN for the vita in USA and hopefully the EU will follow.

Suikoden Series

Originally created by Yoshitaka Murayama, he based it loosely on the classical Chinese novel, Shui Hu Zhuan by Shi Naian. Shui Hu Zhuan pronounced is centered around politics, betrayal and revolution. Mystical crystals known as True Runes are dispersed in the world and whoever posessed one of them is considered "108 Stars of Destiny".

Though the Suikoden games do not follow a sequence of events, some are set in the past in different region and some far ahead in the future. The entire series (except for Tierkreis and Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki) takes place within the same world among continuing and overlapping histories where you even bump into a few characters along your journey. In some cases, several characters appear in multiple installations which is very rare including Jeane the Blacksmith and Viki the ditsy teleporting magician - both integral to the story and team.

These 108 stars possess powers to be used inside and outside battle as Jeane is not always a playable character but makes and upgrades weapons in your castle/headquarters as such. Viki can teleport you to places you have traveled to in the past to save time and can also teleport pots and pans to attack the enemy at random (which sometimes backfires.)

Also by gathering all 108 stars of destiny you can change the threads of fate and unloack a happy ending, will you save one of your loved ones? The politics aspect initially put me off but the art work grabbed me and you get so engrossed with the development of characters it becomes something of a mission to train characters learn joint moves and making the most of different possible conversations and unlocking special scenes.

Writing for Afa Channel

Recently I was honoured to have been asked to write for Afa Channel - this is a massive convention based in Singapore headed by the likes of Danny Choo one of my idols. This event is split into several and tours different countries.

To keep up with updates, footage, interviews, cosplay and reviews they have a beautiful packed website for all your needs. At the moment I am doing cosplay features and the odd feature including my opinion of Pharrel William's new anime-video game video It Girl and My review of the anime Golden Girl.

This site has lots of enjoy so I recommend you peruse if you are an Otaku or want an honest opinion.

View my recent tribute to the now ended Manga, Naruto, with my cosplay photo set on the strong and beautiful Kunoichi (part 1):

Review: Inazuma Eleven 3: Team Ogre Attacks

After much badgering from my fellow anime nerds I was obligated to try the Inzuma Eleven series of games since I was hearing more good things than bad - but the anime was so contrived I found it hard to take the game series seriously.

Inazuma Eleven was originally an anime released in 2013 using a combination of football (we're British we call it football not soccer)with magic. Starving to get into the championships. Overall not a favourite anime. However shortly after the first IE game came to DS. After a friend urged me to give this 3DS version a try after saying the magic world JRPG, this clearly is not an average sports game.

I half expected the game to be a mini Fifa but with anime cut scenes and Japanese VO. Being the first IE game on the 3DS I expected some sort of summary of the game or the story thus far, that doesn't happen you meet the man character and loads more across the world.

Story wise your in the future, your the main character's grandson you bump into Team Ogre it’s here that we are suddenly thrown back to the present where the main character Mark Evens is training for the world cup after “his most recent victory” that is never elaborated upon.

The general jist is we follow him and his group of friends as they try to become the best players in the world, while also trying to save football against the antagonists. They are a team from 80 years in the future called 'Team Ogre' and come with the mission of destroying the Raimon Soccer Club. The game assumes that we the player are aware of the complex story and all of the character connections hates and friendships. Nope, so from what little details I remembered fro the anime I played clueless-ly to all the references. It's a shame since it's a JRPG and the crux of the game is storyline and talking.

I really enjoyed the game-play there is none other like this it's comprised of playing football and solving tasks, talking to people, finding items similar to Pokemon just no monsters! Also it's a 2D game and it's surprising easy on the eye and I liked that quality and I'm glad it wasn't 3D. Enjoying their over the top hair in chibi form! It was also cute that we could customise the equipment like we could in battles for other games, instead this is for stars to help football.

The main bulk of the game is the football matches play out with the typical rules of footie with a mix of 4v4 and 11v11 games, the player starts with the ball and uses the touch screen to control the players by dragging and tapping the screen. If the carrier comes into contact with a member of the opposite team, the game pauses and allows the player to choose their next action from a menu, they can try to dodge / charge, or they can perform a super move that will drain their SP. Every time a move is selected the game shows a short cinematic of the characters performing the action with a little number by each player showing their stats. I think it's a combination of stats and skill on the stylus.

Looking at the previous titles, not alot has changed in the game play mechanics. It's a an RPG but with spurts of football rather than fighting so it would be  an excellent game for the pre-teens to get some non violent gaming ingrained into their brains. The controls aren't easy well they are, the 3DS doesn't always interpret them the right way. So I'd say layer up your screen with a few protectors you don't want to rage scratch your precious 3DS.

I can see that Level-5 RPG had incorporated all the anime sequences well like the Professor Layton games but sadly IE did lack in other departments. The failure to integrate previous story-lines did leave me disorientated but I got the jist f what i needed to do and looked past story references and looked more towards graphics and strategy. Mixing sport with an RPG - who would of thought the unlike two could pair up to make something so fluid and enjoyable.  8/10 ~Aisha Anime~

Baitfighter at Playnation Games

Since we last visited the fresh new look of M&M Games, Playnation Games have been busting a move with lots of events. Utilising their 2nd floor as the Games room, you can pay £2,50 to play retro games all evening or enter Card game tourneys or play casuals, streetpass whatever your heart desires.

If there are events going on for £2.50 you get the opportunity to share your passion for games in a big community. Their latest collaboration features youtube sensation Baitstaition for Baitfighter at Playnation Games. The lads behind this challenge gamers to instant knock out leaving with their dignity in tact or with bragging rights over all.

Upon arriving around 7.15pm all the tournament spaces had been filled already, I could hear a cheering crowd from upstairs, this event had attracted lots of the local gamers to try their skills against the hyped up Bait-fighters.

Confirmed games included:

Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade edition (XBox 360)
Street Fighter: The movie (playing on XBox)
Mortal Kombat 3: SNES
Super Smash Bros. (GC or N64 tbc)
Street of Rage 2 - vs. and co-op (Megadrive)
WWF Smackdown 2 (PSX)
WWF No Mercy (N64)

They also had Street Fighter X Tekken, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and 3, 3rd Strike (online edition) and BlazBlue:CF for play after the main tournament, plus any other games Playnation could magic up.

You were welcome to bring your own sticks/Pads, there will be a couple floating around for use, but if you don't bring your own, you get what you're given and no moaning about equipment, if you lose take it like a man. A gallery for Perfected losers was made so everyone could have their time to shine and everyone had a  lot of fun.

Not being a Streetfighter fan I enjoyed my luck at Soul Caliber on Dreamcast, and who is my challenger? Non other than Foolish Overloard aka Tom from Anime Picks. He put up a good fight but no one could defeat my Xianghua and Lizard man team.

Watch our video with interviews from the people behind Baitstaition and Playnation games.

PSP Vita Rocking the Social Network & Remote Play

Bad Boy PSP Vita

Everyone is going  wild at the moment for the next generation hand consoles, summer is coming and we all want to game in the sun J

The Playstation portable Vita (PSP Vita) was released in Europe February 2012 and had shops in a lockdown with pre orders, with rumours of long life battery to with stand the non use for a fwew days without having to charge all over again aswell as enabling augmented reality gaming and social connectivity, along with the "Near" and "Party" services similar to the Nintendo DS.

The ‘Near’ feature uses GPS to locate like-minded gamers to beat/taunt in the vicinity, and messaging make the console more sociable. The motion sensors are great for us retro gamers who twist and turn normal remotes and get nowhere!

Well my friend happened to get one as well as win the newer PSP Vita with 3G and in built 3D graphics. So I took the chance to see what all the hype was about and borrow one. To my amazement it was bigger than my PSP Lite but overall comfortable to use. Not being a fan of the touch screen took me a while to get accustomed to turning the pages but once I did I loved messing with the home screen options let alone playing any games.
Quality of the PSP vita camera in my garden

You have a camera, which isn’t bad and something to rival your iphone or Blackberry camera,, remote play is awesome, so if you have a PS3 you can link it up and transfer game downloads from the PS Store from your PS3 to your Vita (as long as it’s compatible).

Unfortunately if you do turn it off and not play it for a few days the battery does die so you need to re charge, boo ! Another thing I disliked was the lack of icons on the actual console, couldn’t figure out where the meory card slot was without reading the manual and almost using a nail file to open the darn compartment.
The Vita is backwards compatible only with PSP downloadable games, any old UMD discs won’t work folks nor will your SD memory cards.  Out with the old, in with the new

Distant Worlds: Celebrating 25 years of Final Fantasy music

This morning a mad rush occured after midnight.

Final Fantasy fans around the world went on a button bashing frenzy to procure one of the golden Distant World tickets. Distant Worlds had only made itself known to me last year when a friend offered me an extra ticket. Back then I was like, yeah why not I like the intro song from FF 10.

Little did i know my mind was to be shaken and bounced ala Blitz ball style, they preformed my FF 10 intro song with an array of songs over all the FF games including 2 and different remixes of the Chocobo theme. The Aerith ensemble made me nostalgic and slightly queasy with all the cheesy sequences and images. Yes folks there were screens with old pix-elated favourite scenes playing throughout.

Distant Worlds, Friday - 2 November, 2012 - 7:30pm November is celebrating 25 years of FINAL FANTASY London, England Royal Albert Hall with the The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra plus choir. Tickets were sold out within minutes ranging from from £25 to £65 plus a special VIP meet & greet ticket at £135 see details below Arnie Roth, Conductor Nobuo Uematsu in attendance (original composer). After the FINAL FANTASY concert meet them in an exclusive signing event! Special meet and greet tickets (£135 per person) include:

Lacklustre

You know the world is slowly dissolving into a pit of regression and inadequateness when an English Literature graduate can only get a job as a evening nurse at a vet.

Rather than shoveling research, one must shovel shit.

Not even a trip to "Gamestation" can revive my hope, men should drool on sight of any female buying a shooting game; this includes House of the Dead - this is one mother-fucking hard game.
